چکیده

The beet armyworm (BAW), Spodoptera exigua (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a highly destructive pest of vegetables and field crops. Management primarily relies on synthetic pesticides, which threatening the beneficial community environment. Most importantly, BAW developed resistance to pesticides with making it difficult manage. Therefore, alternative environment-friendly management tactics are urgently required. use pesticidal plant extracts provides an effective way for sustainable program. To evaluate against BAW, we selected six species (Lantana camara, Aloe vera, Azadirachta indica, Cymbopogon citratus, Nicotiana tabacum , Ocimum basilicum) initial screening experiment. Four out such as A. N. tabacum, C. citratus O. basilicum showed promising mortality more than 50%. these four subsequent experiments. Through contact bioassay, indica high 66.63%, followed by 53.33%, at 10% w/v concentration. Similarly, highest rate, 66% concentration, 46% through feeding bioassay. Furthermore, deterrence assay that had antifeedant index (−50) (−39), (−28). In living assay, extract low mean damage score 3.6 cotton 4.5 5.5. Hence, three provided results can minimize chemicals, particularly small landholding farmers. Further studies also required effects plants under conditions optimize further use.

Toxicity and Antifeedant Activity of Selected Plant Extracts Against Lar- val Obliquebanded Leafroller, Choristoneura rosaceana (Harris)

Several plant extracts were evaluated against obliquebanded leafroller larvae to determine potential toxicity and antifeedant effects. Two of the plant extracts exhibited contact toxicity; the LC50 value of Humulus lupulus extract against 3 rd instar larvae was 24.5 μg / insect. In a no choice context, larval survivorship was reduced 23 57 % after feeding on a meridic pinto bean diet treated wi...

Antifeedant and insecticidal activities of selected plant extracts against Epilachna beetle, Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)

Six different indigenous plants were screened for antifeedant and insecticidal activity against fourth instar larvae of Epilachna beetle, Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata, which is a severe pest on brinjal. Among the plants screened, Achyranthes aspera showed higher activity against the selected pest. Ethyl acetate extracts of A. aspera showed higher antifeedant index and insecticidal activit...

Antifeedant Activity of Plant Extracts Against Spodoptera litura (Fab.) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Botanicals act not only as insecticides but also function as antifeedants, oviposition deterrents and ovicides. The present investigation reports on the antifeedant property of leaf components of Curculigo orchioides, Evolvulus alsinoides, Phyllanthus deblis, Swertia corymbosa and Zanthoxylum limonella. Solvent residues of these leaf components obtained from different solvent extracts dissolved...

Toxic Effects of Three Selected Malaysian Timbers Plant Extracts against Subterranean Termites

The toxic effects of selected Malaysian timbers (Madhuca utilis, Anisoptera laevis and Endospermum malaccense) heartwood extracts were studied with the aim to determine and understanding the function of wood extracts as a natural protection against termite. The results show that no-choice experiments revealed toxic properties of all investigated extracts by the contact against Coptotermes gestr...
